Where Am I?

Where did you go, you foolish man?
I seem to have lost myself.
But I will find you,
Because I know I can not hide for long.

Did you go down to the river?
Where the peaceful waters flow?
Quiet, but so loud,
Running over all within its path.
So cool and refreshing,
A promise of endless rejuvenation.
No, I am not here.

Where did you go, you wandering soul?
I seem to have lost myself.
But I will find you,
Because I know I can not hide for long.

Did you go into the forest?
Where the trees speak to all?
Quiet, but so loud,
Leaves singing their songs.
A new world around every trunk,
Stories to be revealed endlessly.
No, I am not here.

Where did you go, you silly creature?
I seem to have lost myself.
But I will find you,
Because I know I can not hide for long.

Did you go up to the mountains?
Where the Heavens touch the earth?
Quiet, but so loud,
The monuments echoing with timeless beauty.
Everything before you laid bare,
Revealing mysteries for miles.
No, I am not here.

Where did you go, you drifting spirit?
I seem to have lost myself.
But I will find you,
Because I know you can not hide for long.

About brinkmanb47

Howdy! Let me introduce myself! My name is Brandon Bedell, as you must have already surmised. Some also know me as Colonel Cane, Brinkman, or just simply Brink. I am 29 years old. I grew up in a small town called Grant in the State of Michigan. Living most of that time on the wonderful waters of the Muskegon River. Small towns are great to create a mixture of emotions and experiences that inspire creativity. I have always loved to write and have been creating various different pieces for some time now. I have been out of the hobby for a significant season but am ready to jump back into the ink. Over time I will post some of my older pieces and add the new. I hope that you all enjoy it and feel free to comment as you wish!
